OCLS releases a model licence for individual college use
OCLS is pleased to introduce a new version of the model licence developed specifically for use by individual college libraries. The new model licence is now available on the “OCLS Model Licence” web page in ERMA.
Since the release of OCLS’s updated consortial model licence in October, the eResources Management team has been working on several initiatives to provide additional support for the colleges in their own eresource licensing activities. While the colleges have always been welcome to use and repurpose the OCLS model licence in their own negotiations with vendors, this latest version was developed specifically for individual college use with terms and conditions unique to consortial acquisition removed, the Licensee formulated as an individual institution, and various areas which allow individual libraries to easily plug in their own college’s details.
Next up in the model licence development process is an annotated version that will act as a resource for college library staff to learn more about each section within the model licence, the licensing process in general, and other information about licence negotiations. More information about the annotated model licence will be shared once it’s available, but if you have any questions please contact Coralee Leroux, eResources & Services Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
