Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL)

Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research.

eBooks are purchased and available for perpetual access, subject to ongoing hosting fees.

All of the colleges have access to a collection of free titles on GVRL. See the Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) Free Titles resource page for details.

Some colleges have reported that the institutional UID in Gale access URLs prevents seamless automatic inclusion in discovery tools. You can either export all titles in CSV, batch replace the generic placehold ("loc_id") with your college's UID, and import back into your discovery tool; or you can ask your discovery tool vendor to do this for you.
